Scientists have studied mangosteen compounds and inflammation-related pathways. A small human study of a mangosteen-based drink reported changes in some inflammation markers.
Human Antioxidant Study
A small randomized study in healthy adults reported a change in an antioxidant measure after a mangosteen-based drink was used for 30 days.
Other Clinical Research
Mangosteen preparations have also been studied in areas such as gum health, although these preparations and uses are different from an oral fruit-rind capsule.
